Fishing Guide in Vero Beach

Vero Beach sits right where the Indian River Lagoon opens up wide and the Atlantic stays close enough to hit in minutes. I fish both depending on what you're after and what the conditions look like. Inshore, the grass flats and mangrove shorelines hold snook that ambush bait along the edges, especially around moving water. The lagoon here is healthy, with good current flow and structure that concentrates fish. When we head offshore, the reef systems and ledges a few miles out are where I target grouper and snapper. The bottom composition changes quick out here, and those transitions are where the bite happens.

Seasonally, Vero Beach fishing shifts but never really stops. Spring and fall are prime for snook inshore as water temps climb or cool into that sweet spot, and they feed aggressively on the flats and around docks. Summer brings mahi within range when the Gulf Stream pushes closer and weedlines set up offshore. Grouper and snapper bite best in the cooler months when they stack up on structure and feed heavy before and after the winter spawn closures. I adjust tactics and locations throughout the year so you're always fishing the best available bite.

A typical charter out of Vero Beach starts early, and we decide inshore or offshore based on your target species and the forecast.
