Fishing Guide in Fort Pierce

Fort Pierce sits right where the Indian River Lagoon meets the Atlantic, which means we've got options most captains only dream about. The inlet itself is one of the most reliable passages on this coast, and once we're outside, the reef structure starts close and runs deep. I target grouper and snapper on the wrecks and ledges anywhere from 80 to 120 feet, depending on what the bite is doing. These fish stack up on structure, and if you know where the bottom changes, you'll find them. Inshore, the flats and mangrove shorelines around the lagoon hold snook through most of the year, especially around the bridges and docks where current moves bait.

The seasons here dictate everything. Spring and summer are prime time for mahi when the weed lines push in close and the water warms up. We'll run offshore looking for floating debris and color changes, and when we find them, the dolphin are usually underneath. Fall and winter shift the focus back to the bottom, where grouper and snapper fishing stays strong as long as the weather cooperates. Snook fishing inshore peaks in the warmer months, but I've put clients on fish during winter cold snaps too when they move into deeper pockets of the lagoon.

A Fort Pierce charter with me means we're reading conditions that morning and making the call. If it's calm, we're heading offshore to put you on reef fish or chasing mahi if they're around.
